Survey Request on Proposed Criteria to Further Upzone Lots Inside Parkallen

Rezoning Approved banner image

Parkallen Civics & Planning Committee requests your feedback on proposed criteria to further upzone lots inside Parkallen.

Provide your feedback via the Parkallen District Planning Survey before May 19.

The Parkallen Community League is asking the residents and business owners in Parkallen to participate in a survey on the city’s proposed District Policy and Scona District Plan, so we are able to effectively respond and advocate on your behalf.

In the most recent 2024 proposed District Policy, released in early April, a new clause was included.  District Policy 2.5.2.6, if approved, would result in significant potential increase in building height, size, and development intensity within Parkallen if two of six criteria are met. See Parkallen Map - Secondary Corridors & District Policy 2.5.2.6

There has been no opportunity provided for public engagement on Policy clause 2.5.2.6.

Learn more about this new policy, how it would apply to Parkallen and its potential to inform future rezonings to up zone land within our neighbourhood.

Your input is urgently required to allow City Council to know your views on the increased height and size of development proposed for your neighbourhood.  The survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Please complete the survey by end of day on Sunday, May 19 to ensure we have time to tabulate the results in time to prepare for the Public Hearing on District Planning on May 28 to 30.

If you would like to participate in the Public Hearing, please email civics@parkallen.ca. The results will be posted on www.parkallen.ca on the Civics page.
